District students who participated in the 2017-18 New York State PTA Reflections program were recognized by the Board of Education and members of the administration at the most recent BOE meeting.

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program that encourages artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities are invited to participate and explore the arts. This year’s theme was “Within Reach.”

Congratulations to Centre Avenue School winners: first-graders Payton Conklin and Christopher Devine; second-grader Mya Monteleone, third-graders Atticus Gamache, Eileen Harvey and Paul Lynch; fifth-graders Cassidy Conklin, Kaitlyn Lewald and Grace Sommer; and sixth-grader Everett Gamache.

Second-graders Dylan Colacino and Ethan Grill; fourth-graders Megan Acuti (two entries), Valerie Sirchia and Emily Valdebenito; and sixth-graders Ava LaVolpe, Sadie Rodriguez and Olivia Yagnisis were named winners at Rhame Avenue.

A special congratulations to Rhame Avenue’s Megan Acuti, who made school history, with both her musical composition and literature entry moving on to the New York State-level of the competition.

Members of the community and the board who served as judges of the competition were also thanked, as were Centre Avenue PTA treasurer Michelle Gamache and Rhame Avenue Reflections Chairperson Tara Alias, who coordinated the program for their respective schools.
