Incoming seventh-grade students visiting from Centre and Rhame Avenue schools received a preview of the academic and extracurricular activities available to them at East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School on April 24.

Student visitors first heard from club advisers and coaches about the many extracurricular opportunities available, then Assistant Principal Ms. TJ Terranova explained how establishing positive school connections develops academic success and social-emotional wellness. Students also completed an activity survey, so that middle school staff can begin preparing for next year's offerings. Students then broke into groups, providing a chance to meet their future classmates.

The students participated in activities to get to know some of next year’s building support team and peers. They also sat in on middle school academic classes, learning about the importance of each lesson’s essential question, and getting an important preview of their future work.
