Students in East Rockaway’s Twilight Program recently took part in the program’s second annual Winterfest.

The students worked collaboratively to create interdisciplinary presentations, which included “Escape the Room” scenarios created by US History, algebra and global history classes, “Rockaway Squares” created by English 9/10 and Participation in Government students, a “Living Museum” designed by World of Technology and geometry students, and a “News Broadcast” written and filmed by English 12 and Earth science classes.

Nassau BOCES honored December’s Star Students with certificates and movie passes. East Rockaway educators and their Nassau BOCES colleagues enjoyed participating in the program and the students’ eager involvement. The evening concluded with an Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest.

Director of Guidance Mona Hecht extended her gratitude to Twilight Program Coordinator Helene Yzaguirre and all of the faculty and staff.
