Fourth graders at Centre Avenue School participated in a hands-on experiment that correlated with their studies on adaptations. Students investigated how an animal’s body helps meet its needs through a beak experiment. They explored different tools that mimicked birds’ beaks and then tried to pick up food by using each tool. Based on their observations, students were able to conclude why bird beaks are different shapes.
