Parent Teacher Conferences will be held as scheduled at the Jr./Sr. High School.

Update 4:00PM: Afternoon Update on Safety Concern: 4:00 PM

We wanted to inform the community that we had a very good and typical day in all of our schools.
After-school and evening activities will proceed normally. The additional security presence will continue through these activities and throughout the late evening hours. Our custodial staff will arrive early tomorrow to inspect buildings and grounds prior to the opening of schools.

We appreciate the patience and cooperation we have received from the entire East Rockaway community and we will continue to coordinate with authorities to make safety our highest priority.

The Nassau County Police Department sent out the following message to the media late last night:

"NCPD received notification late on 11/20 from an individual who claims he heard an unidentified male say he "put bombs in every school in Nassau and set them to go off tomorrow". This information is unconfirmed and seems unrealistic, however all schools are advised to be alert to suspicious packages and/or persons. Any suspicious packages and/or persons should be reported via 911 immediately."

We have been in contact with school safety officials liaising with the Nassau County police and will continue to monitor this situation very closely. No changes to regular school operations for Monday 11/21 are anticipated at this time.
