Throughout the school year, East Rockaway students in grades 4-6 have received presentations about staying safe online. Recently, sixth-graders at Centre Avenue and Rhame Avenue decided to use their knowledge and created internet safety presentations for the district’s younger users.

During their library-computer classes, the sixth-graders used multimedia tools such as Voki, Scratch and Kahoot! to create engaging presentations and games to teach the kindergarteners through third-graders how to use technology safely and appropriately. The sixth-graders enjoyed the experience of not just being students, but also being the teachers and when the younger viewers were asked if they learned about how to be safe on the internet, they gave a resounding "YES!"
