Centre Avenue first-graders explored the topic of magnets when an educator from the Long Island Center for Arts and Sciences visited the school in April.

Students investigated the science and lore of magnetism and were given an opportunity to conduct simple experiments to better understand the terms "attract" and "repel" with regard to magnetism. The children also created their own refrigerator door magnets to take home.
