Centre Avenue students took a wild journey through the human body during an interactive assembly led by David Wrigley of the Franklin Institute.

During the presentation, which was sponsored by the school’s PTA, students discovered how nutrients in the food they eat are converted into the energy that keeps them on the move. They also learned how muscles work and what blood actually accomplishes as it flows through veins and arteries. Wrigley provided knowledge about the many systems of the body, including the respiratory, circulatory, skeletal and digestive systems. The educational information was reinforced to students through participation in visual demonstrations. The traveling science presenter also reminded students about the importance of eating healthy and exercising.
