Animal Adaption Research Underway at Centre Avenue

Fourth-grade students at Centre Avenue recently began their animal adaptations research project utilizing science encyclopedias, magazines, reference books and the internet.
The students will use a variety of structural adaptations from the vertebrate and invertebrate groups to design an original animal that meets all the basic needs: food, air, water, body temperature, shelter and defense. Their projects will focus on one animal and require them to write a five to seven sentence, structured paragraph essay. Students must use three reference sources for their research.
