District students will learn about bullying prevention when they participate in National Bullying Prevention Month this October.
National Bullying Prevention Month is a nationwide campaign founded in 2006 by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. This year’s theme is “Take a Stand, Lend a Hand.” Throughout October, communities are encouraged to unite nationwide to raise awareness of bullying prevention through activities, education, events, and outreach. East Rockaway schools are continuing to inspire, educate and invite everyone to take an active role in bullying prevention. Students can take the online “Together Against Bullying” pledge by making a commitment to support others who have been hurt or harmed, treat others with kindness, be more accepting of people’s differences and help include those who are left out.
