Centre Students Find Equivalent Fractions

Centre Students Find Equivalent Fractions photo

Centre Avenue fourth-graders worked with AIS teacher Katie Kuck to find equivalent fractions using different tools, such as Legos and dice. The fourth-graders compared smaller Legos to larger Legos in order to create new fractions that represented the same amount. They also rolled dice to determine different fractions, then multiplied or divided the numerators and denominators by the same number in order to find as many equivalent fractions as they could for their peers' fractions.
