Centre Avenue fourth-graders have been learning about animal adaptations and recently investigated how the bodies of animals help them meet their needs by conducting a beak experiment. Students explored different tools that mimicked birds’ beaks. They then had to try to pick up food with each different tool. Based on their observations they were able to conclude why bird beaks are different shapes.
