Board Continues Communications Sub-Committee: Volunteers Needed

Untitled-1(5).jpg thumbnail158930
Last year, the Board of Education created a Communications Sub-Committee that was tasked with improving the communications process districtwide. The committee was highly productive and made suggestions that have already yielded many communications changes, districtwide. Some of these have been livestreaming of events, including Board of Education meetings, creating more opportunities for the school district and students to connect with community members, and more consistent use of Google classroom for parents. Another suggestion, to create one central East Rockaway community calendar, is in the process of being investigated with the necessary organizations. With its success, the Board intends to continue the committee this year and is seeking additional volunteers.

Participation is limited to approximately eighteen participants and the Board is seeking a diverse and balanced group of interested community members to join Board members and district representatives in an engaging and focused dialogue about communication methods and messaging strategies. The committee meets quarterly.

If you are interested in possibly becoming a member and are a resident of the East Rockaway School District, please visit this site to fill out a brief questionnaire: https://forms.gle/vxUTtFgmnq23GcnbA.
