Junior-Senior High School students assisted Ms. Maureen Schutta by volunteering at the Town of Hempstead's Camp ANCHOR (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation) Winter Holiday Fest.

ANCHOR has been in existence since the 1970s, serving children and adults with disabilities. Student participants were Brian Cooney and Stephen Cooney, Nick Pannullo, Emma Pollachov and Brandon Velasquez. They assisted those children and adults with special requests for homemade ornaments and decorations. Elissa Velasquez worked in style, dressing in a Santa's Helper costume.

The district is proud of all those who participated in this important event.
