Students in Mr. Andrew Rinn’s health classes at the Junior-Senior High School received Stop The Bleed training during a recent visit from Northwell Health Public Health Educator Catherine Dunckley.

They learned the importance of first calling 911 in any type of life-threating bleeding situation. Dunckley then taught them how to pack a wound, apply pressure and use a tourniquet on foam rollers.

The training is a national awareness campaign and call to action intended to encourage bystanders to become equipped and empowered to help in an emergency before professionals arrive.
