East Rockaway Celebrates its Social Workers

East Rockaway Celebrates its Social Workers thumbnail182348
The district honored the month of March as Social Work Month, with this year’s theme “Social workers are essential.”

Social workers play a vital role within a community and its schools. They help children get the support and services they need to get the best possible education, while also assisting in their mental health and evoking a positive change in their lives. In addition, they are woven into the fabric of society and, as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, economic uncertainty, and racial unrest, social workers are needed more than ever.

East Rockaway Director of Pupil Personnel Services Vincent Healy and Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services Robert Kennedy treated the district social workers to lunch in honor of Social Work Month.

The district is very proud of the dedication and effort its social workers carry each and every day. The East Rockaway family is very grateful for the positive impact they provide for students.
