Rhame Avenue school’s gymnasium was packed with parents and district staff members, as fifth graders showcased their knowledge and skills in business economics for the school’s Entrepreneurs Day.
For the event, students designed products using a business plan. These items included plants, lava lamps, paper weights, funfetti funnels, stress balls, body scrubs and more. They also created business cards, catchy jingles, designed logos, slogans and a website to market their work. The students manufactured their products at home and then set up shop to sell them on the big day.
The event kicked off with students singing a song before they moved to their “shops” to discuss their products and sell them to “customers.” Parents and district staff purchased a variety of items by using Rhame Avenue dollars.
Students were successful in sales and were sold out in under an hour.
