Members of the district were in high spirits, as East Rockaway schools welcomed back full-time, in-person students. The students that returned were in grades fourth, seventh, eighth and 12th.

They were reunited with friends and staff and shared their excitement on returning back to school. This is part of the district’s reopening plan, which will be carried out during a three-week period. Students in grades fifth, sixth and 11th are scheduled to return April 19 and students in grades ninth and 10th are scheduled to return on April 26.

The district is looking forward to the return of all students and will continue to monitor and uphold health and safety guidelines.
