The art department at the Junior-Senior High School has a lot to celebrate after five students earned high honors in this year’s Photographic Foundation of Long Island competition.

The following students received awards in their respective categories: senior Hailey Arnold took second and third place in Architecture; junior Isabella Anderson earned first place in Color Choice; senior Allyson Lovera was awarded first place in Photo-Journalism; junior Gianna Mancusi took first place in Scapes and second place in Portrait; and freshman Zara Soofisada earned second place in Scapes.

The Photographic Federation of Long Island is a voluntary nonprofit organization that consists of camera clubs from Nassau and Suffolk counties and the five boroughs of New York City. The organization is also a member of the Photographic Society of America and is dedicated to the enjoyment and advancement of photography.

All five students will now move onto the Youth Showcase Photography Exhibit, which is hosted by the Photographic Society of America. The district wishes them best of luck in the national competition.
