Students Practice Translation in Math

Students During a Math Lesson thumbnail199746
Students at the Junior-Senior High School worked collaboratively in Google Slides to match equivalent expressions, words, symbols, tables, and area representations during a math lesson. While engaging in this activity, they were able to present arguments to their peers and challenge other’s thinking, which is a critical mathematical practice: Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. The lesson helped assess how well students can translate between words, symbols, tables, and area representations of algebraic expressions.
