Centre school students in Ms. Ashley Tener’s and Ms. Danielle Schaetzle's class were able to adopt “desk pets” for their pet adoption day by using the funds they earned for completing their work.

At the end of each lesson, students earn $5 for finishing assignments with their best effort and $1 for following the rules. They saved enough "desk pet" funds to adopt a pet and purchase a desk pet home. As part of the process, students had to fill out an adoption application, sign a contract and fill out a desk pet certificate. Their future goal is to continue to work hard and earn more money to buy desk pet accessories.
