The district is welcoming members of the community to join together for the grand opening celebration of its new, state-of-the-art athletic complex on April 2.

The celebrations will kick off with the East Rockaway Education Foundations 5K run at 8:30 a.m. followed by a parade starting at Centre Avenue Elementary School and then the opening ceremonies commencing on the field at 10:15 a.m. The first pitch of the varsity softball game will take place at 11 a.m. and then the first pitch of the varsity baseball game at 1:30 p.m. In between the games, there will be refreshments for all who attend, student council “Club Corner,” field activities and more. In addition, there will be an award ceremony for the Educational Foundation 5K run.
