The district’s Board of Education and administration joined together to celebrate the achievements of its staff and administrators during the district’s April board of education meeting.

Director of Guidance Ms. Janna Bonacorsi took the podium to honor retiree Ms. Theresa Daube. Ms. Bonacorsi delivered a speech expressing the impact Ms. Daube has made on the community, working in the district’s counseling office for 15 years. Following her speech, current and former East Rockaway staff members expressed how Ms. Daube will be sorely missed through a video.

In addition, Junior-Senior High School Principal Mr. Richard Schaffer and Assistant Principal Dr. Bradley Krauz were lauded for being awarded with tenure by the board of education and administration. Mr. Schaffer spoke on behalf of Dr. Krauz’s commitment to his position and Superintendent of Schools Lisa Ruiz spoke on behalf of Mr. Schaffer’s dedication to the community as well. Both Mr. Schaffer and Dr. Krauz came to the district in 2018 and have exhibited efforts that have made them well deserving of this achievement.
