East Rockaway Junior/Senior High School celebrated Red Nose Day on Thursday, May 26th for our 6th consecutive year. Red Nose Day is an annual fundraising event that raises money and awareness to help eradicate hunger and poverty for children in the United States and across the world.
Throughout the week, facts and statistics about child poverty were announced on the morning announcements and shared on the TV monitors throughout the hallways.
Mr. Chris Caputo, Key Club Advisor and Mrs. Amy Weissman Canale, School Social Worker held a fundraiser during lunch periods. For a donation of $1, students in grades 7-12, staff and faculty, purchased a red nose and took pictures with a frame titled, “#NOSESON”.
$293 was raised! Our donations will help provide children with temporary housing, food, clothing, medical care, and school supplies.
It’s our collective efforts and attention that helps bring about positive change. We are proud to keep this ongoing tradition alive. ERHS has come together to help children dream without limits and lead meaningful lives, laugh, spread joy, have fun, and made a positive change one red nose at a time.
