Thanks to our amazing team of faculty and educators who are always looking for new ideas and collaborations to improve the educational experience for our students and enhance our school community.

On Saturday 10/15, Chairpersons Mr. Polite, Ms. Forbes, and Ms. Olivares-Lazcano, and Director of Technology & Learning Analytics Dr. Fisk attended Edcamp Long Island hosted at Bethpage High School. Edcamps are free, participant-driven days of learning, where the session schedule is built that morning based on the interests of everyone in attendance.

Dubbed an “unconference,” Edcamps are devoid of vendors and keynotes and all embrace a simple philosophy: the smartest person in the room is, the room.

Dr. Fisk facilitated a discussion on innovative classroom spaces, celebrating the progress we’ve made at East Rockaway while also providing a safe and supportive forum for attendees to share their own successes and challenges for the group’s benefit.
