Salt Marsh Field Trip

Students at the Salt Marsh thumbnail229718

Our students in AP Environmental Science and Marine Biology had the opportunity to visit Oceanside Marine Nature Center, a 52-acre salt marsh preserve that is home to the most biologically diverse ecosystem on Long Island.

During the field trip, the students worked alongside conservation biologist Michael Farina and performed various physical, biological, and chemical tests in the salt marsh. They also learned about the environmental and economic value of salt marshes, as well as preservation and management practices.
