East Rockaway will be providing emergency child care for essential workers and has partnered with SCOPE Educational Services to provide this service. The program will open Monday, March 30, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Rhame Avenue School. Registration information is available in the attached documents.

It is available for those from birth to age four. Currently, there are 182 licensed and registered child care programs open and available to serve children under age 5 in Nassau County.

As of March 25, 2020, the following number of vacancies exist for children under age 5 in these programs:

343 slots for infants

668 slots for toddlers

902 slots for preschoolers

Any essential workers needing child care for a child between the age of birth through  age 4 in Nassau County can call 516-727-0331 to be connected with a referral specialist who will identify available child care programs that meet each parent’s needs. Pre-K through grade 6 can register at SCOPE through the attached information.
