Although the East Rockaway Elementary Concert Band rehearses separately in its respective buildings, they have been collaborating digitally via Google Classroom throughout the year. Teachers often take video to peer-assess during rehearsal and put together a special themed video to celebrate Star Wars (“May the Fourth Be With You”) Day. Students watched rehearsal clips to get a glimpse of musical preparation in the opposite building and concluded by rehearsing John Williams’ “Star Wars Main Theme.” They wore red for the dark side and blue for the light side.
