East Rockaway senior earns spot in prestigious regional Honor Choir

East Rockaway High School senior Julia Mannino has been accepted into the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) All Eastern Treble Honor Choir, a significant achievement that places her among the top young vocalists across 11 northeastern states.
The honor choir selection was particularly competitive this year, with the ACDA receiving a record number of applications from talented students throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
As a member of the All Eastern Treble Honor Choir, Julia will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with fellow select vocalists at the ACDA All Eastern Conference, scheduled for Feb. 25-28, 2026, in Providence, Rhode Island. The conference brings together choral directors, educators and student musicians from across the eastern region for performances, workshops and collaborative musical experiences.
The acceptance represents recognition of Julia's vocal abilities and dedication to choral music. Students selected for ACDA honor choirs typically undergo a rigorous audition process that evaluates their technical skills, musicianship and overall vocal quality.
The East Rockaway school community congratulates Julia on this outstanding accomplishment and looks forward to celebrating her continued success in choral performance.
