Peter McNally was first elected to the Board of Education in 2019. He was re-elected to serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education, a Master of Science degree in educational technology and a professional certificate in educational leadership and administration, all from LIU Post. Mr. McNally has been a technology education teacher for the past 18 years. He currently works in the Lynbrook School District, where he is the head track and field coach as well as the cross-country coach. Mr. McNally feels that a school board member should be a good listener and put the needs of the students above everything. He wholeheartedly feels that every stakeholder needs to be treated with kindness and respect and show the same towards others. When that happens, true positive change that benefits our children can take place. Mr. McNally is an avid runner, golfer and tennis player. He resides in East Rockaway with his wife and two children, who attend East Rockaway schools.

Maureen Doyle, originally elected in May 2024 to serve a 14-month term, was re-elected as a Board of Education trustee in May 2025 to serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2025.

Ms. Doyle grew up in Bay Park and graduated from ERHS in 1985. She has lived in the East Rockaway School District for more than 30 years. Ms. Doyle has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a retired partner of an engineering firm in Manhattan, where she worked for over 25 years. 

Since retiring, Ms. Doyle has taken up volunteer positions with various local organizations including Operation Splash, which is dedicated to cleaning up Long Island’s waterways, and the Saint Raymond’s food pantry.

Ms. Doyle has faithfully attended Board of Education meetings for many years, gaining extensive knowledge of school budgets, state aid formulas, audits and reserves. Her deep understanding of their financial impact on the district positions her well, to collaborate with the BOE and administrators. Ms. Doyle is committed to optimizing fund usage, ensuring the district thrives both academically and socially for students and teachers, while upholding fiscal responsibility to the entire community.

Aspasia Lonergan, better known as Ozzie, was elected to the Board of Education in May 2023.

Ms. Lonergan and her husband Ricky are both graduates of East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School, Class of 1988. While a student, she attended BOCES programming earning her a degree in medical assisting. After high school, Ms. Lonergan continued her education at Nassau Community College and, upon graduation, began a career in nursing.

Having cherished the pride and opportunities presented to her in East Rockaway, Ms. Lonergan wanted her children to experience the traditions she had. She and Ricky raised their four children, Tyler, Demi, Malena and Shane, in East Rockaway, with the last graduating in 2023.

During her time as a “school mom”, Ms. Lonergan dedicated countless hours volunteering and supporting fundraisers and events that benefitting both the school and the community.  It was through this experience that she has gathered a passion for the system and developed ideas to strengthen it for the benefit of our students and for all East Rockaway residents.

Ms. Lonergan is extremely passionate about advocating for mental health and the students in our school system. She is hopeful to be a positive voice for the community by listening and championing for them.

Joseph M. Lores was elected to serve on the Board of Education in 2024 for a three-year term. As a third-generation graduate of ERHS, Class of 2012, he is deeply rooted in the East Rockaway community and committed to enhancing the educational experience for all students here in our district.

Mr. Lores has served as a business analyst for Weruva International since 2016. In this role, he specializes in gathering and analyzing data from leading retailers, contributing to strategic decision-making and business growth in the pet food industry. He graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2016 with a degree in business economics, which has equipped him with the skills to approach challenges with a data-driven mindset and drive impactful outcomes. He hopes to apply these analytical and strategic skills to effectively manage budgets and financial planning on the school board, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the community.

Mr. Lores is a huge fan of the New York Mets, New York Jets and Marvel Comics. He resides in East Rockaway and enjoys spending time with his huge family.
