East Rockaway High School's Cinderella enchants audiences
The cast, crew and orchestra of East Rockaway High School's production of Cinderella brought magic to the stage this past weekend, delivering performances that captivated audiences and showcased the exceptional talent within the school community.
The production featured Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved musical adaptation of the classic fairy tale, originally written as a 1957 television special starring Julie Andrews. While the show has seen several remakes over the decades, it made its Broadway debut as a stage production in 2013 with a new book by Douglas Carter Beane, breathing fresh life into the timeless story.
East Rockaway's production starred many familiar faces from previous ERHS stage productions, with several senior performers making their final appearances on the high school stage before graduation. The pit orchestra brought the iconic score to life, featuring talented student musicians alongside members of East Rockaway's music faculty. Music department chairperson Pete Ceglio showcased his skills on drums, while ERHS orchestra teacher Noah Luft-Weissberg conducted. The production was directed by Christina Pace.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding production – a truly memorable performance that demonstrated the creativity, dedication and collaborative spirit of East Rockaway's performing arts community.
