East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School students explore career pathways at Career Day
On Mar. 6, East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School students got a firsthand look at the wide world of career possibilities during a robust, full-day Career Day presentation hosted and organized by Career Inc.
The event gave students the opportunity to explore various career options and hear directly from professionals working across a diverse range of fields.
The day kicked off with keynote presentations held simultaneously in two venues. Junior high students gathered in the gym for an opening session, while senior high students convened in the auditorium for a panel conversation facilitated by Beth Bucheister, executive director of Career Inc.
Following the keynotes, students dispersed to individual classrooms throughout the building, where they heard from professionals working in fields including marketing, radiology, psychology, talent acquisition, interior design, sales, food services, construction and the military.
Seniors wrapped up the day with a special luncheon alongside the Career Day presenters, offering an informal setting where students could continue conversations and make more personal connections with professionals in attendance.
