Students at East Rockaway's elementary schools got an up-close look at the working world this week, learning from professionals who also happen to be part of their school community.

At Rhame Avenue and Centre Avenue schools, kindergarten through sixth-grade students explored careers spanning law enforcement, healthcare, writing, and the arts. Among those who shared their expertise: a costume designer, an airplane technician, an author, an electrician, an NYPD lieutenant, and a virologist.

The district extends its gratitude to the family members who gave their time to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of professionals.
