On Dec. 11, the East Rockaway High School senior chorus participated in a dynamic choral workshop led by Dr. David Fryling from Hofstra University. Dr. Fryling, a nationally recognized leader in the choral field, worked closely with the students on their musical selections for the upcoming winter concert, providing expert guidance and fostering their passion for choral music.

Known for his engaging and energetic approach, Dr. Fryling inspired the senior chorus with his insights and techniques. As the Director of Choral Activities at Hofstra University, Dr. Fryling conducts the Hofstra Chorale and chamber choir and is the founder of the eVoco Voice Collective, a distinguished chamber choir composed of choral professionals from across Long Island. Additionally, he serves as the President of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), further establishing his expertise and influence in the choral community.

The workshop was a resounding success, leaving both students and faculty eager for future collaborations with Hofstra University's esteemed music faculty. The East Rockaway Music Department expressed its gratitude to Dr. Fryling for sharing his knowledge and artistry with the senior chorus.

The senior chorus is excited to present the fruits of their hard work at the winter concert, scheduled for Dec. 19, at 6:00 PM. The concert promises to be a wonderful showcase of the students' talents and their growth under the guidance of Dr. Fryling and their dedicated music teachers.

The East Rockaway music department looks forward to building on this partnership with Hofstra University to continue enriching the musical experiences of its students.
