Rhame Celebrates World Down Syndrome Day!

On March 21st, Rhame Avenue School proudly recognized World Down Syndrome Day, a global celebration of inclusion and understanding. The date—3/21—represents the third extra link on the 21st pair of chromosomes, a beautiful part of what makes us unique.
Students showcased their creativity by designing socks that symbolize the 23 pairs of chromosomes, now displayed on the World Cultures Map on the second floor. This interactive display also highlights stories of individuals with Down Syndrome from around the world, celebrating our shared connections.
To add to the excitement, Rhame students took part in a schoolwide coloring contest, with one winner per grade receiving a special prize—a pair of John’s Crazy Socks!
Thank you to our students and staff for making this celebration so meaningful. Let’s continue to spread awareness, acceptance, and lots of colorful socks!
