East Rockaway Welcomes Jennifer Belfiore as Science Department Chairperson

East Rockaway High School is proud to welcome Ms. Jennifer Belfiore as the new Chairperson of the Science Department. With more than 25 years of dedication to science education, Ms. Belfiore brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her new role.
After earning her degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1999, she began her career at the American Museum of Natural History, teaching children and families from Pre-K through grade 8 in the museum’s education department. In 2013, she returned to the public school setting, teaching secondary science in the Greenburgh Central School District, where she also served as Lead Teacher. A proud New York State Master Teacher Emeritus, she has long been committed to supporting both students and teachers in their growth.
Ms. Belfiore is especially passionate about inquiry-based learning and helping young people see the connections between science, research and the world around them. She also looks forward to supporting teachers in their adoption of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS).
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Belfiore to East Rockaway High School!
