Dear ERHS Students and Families,
We hope that you are enjoying your summer so far and that you are excited to be reading either Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli or Born a Crime by Trevor Noah.  Each book offers a unique story and perspective and explores the theme of finding your own path. 

As you start to read your assigned book, consider the quotes below and reflect on the question that follows. 

From Stargirl:
"She was the girl who made the music of her own drum, and everyone else was just trying to march to it."
Reflect: How do you think being different can affect the way others see you and how you see yourself?

From Born a Crime:
"We tell people to follow their dreams, but you can only dream of what you can imagine, and, depending on where you’re from, your imagination can be quite limited."
