Director of School Counseling Janna Bonacorsi has been selected to present at the 26th annual New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) Coming Together Conference (CTC) this June.

Ms. Bonacoursi will be presenting a session entitled “Staff Engagement and Collaboration with External Stakeholders.” She will be highlighting the “Road to College” program, which provides support and guidance to our teachers, counselors, students and parents as they work as a team to navigate the challenges of the college application process.

“Janna has been instrumental in the development of a culture that values post-secondary planning and readiness. She has ensured that our students and families have the resources and knowledge to explore all options available and has increased the capacity of the school counseling department to support them in navigating the college application process,” said East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School Principal Richard Schaffer. “We are proud that she was selected to present at this prestigious conference and share the strategies she has implemented at ERHS. We expect feedback from her colleagues will provide additional insight that will improve the program for our students.”

The NYSACAC Conference brings together college admissions officers, school counselors and administrators from throughout New York State for professional development and collaboration. The conference runs June 6-9 at St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, NY.
