East Rockaway faithful came out in droves on Friday night as the high school community celebrated Homecoming 2023 with a lively parade and victorious Rocks football game.
The parade featured hundreds of marchers making their way down Ocean Avenue, including band members, cheer teams and varsity and junior varsity teams and clubs showing off their custom designed banners. Thanks for everyone who marched with us and those who cheered us on from the sidewalk!
With the fired-up crowd packed into the stands, the Rocks took the field to thunderous applause and festivities kicked off with an incredible acapella performance of the National Anthem by junior Alexis Butler, sophomore Daniel Stebner and senior Ava LaVolpe.
The Rocks were dominant throughout the game and the faithful fans shared in the energy. They cheered along with every play, waving signs and showing off their East Rockaway colors.
The halftime show was an orange and black blast of energy that featured performances from the varsity, JV and Raiders cheer teams, as well as an exhibition game featuring the Raiders football team showing us what we can look forward to in the next generation of Rocks.
The band provided a musical flair to the festivities as they performed hit songs throughout the game that ended with the Rocks beating Oyster Bay 22-14.
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate East Rockaway spirit with us. You Rock!
