On Jan. 17, students at Centre Avenue School showed off their love of literacy as they celebrated “Dress Like a Word Day.” The annual activity was facilitated by the school’s Reading Action Committee to spread the fun of literacy for students from kindergarten to sixth grade.

Students chose any appropriate word that they wanted to visually represent and then got creative with their clothing and accessories. Words that were represented during this year’s “Dress Like a Word Day” ranged from ecstatic and equestrian to puzzle, spy and goalkeeper.

The students presented their words and showed off their outfits during each class. It was an inspiring and educational lesson that resulted in deep thinking and creative expression.
