At the Board of Education meeting on April 16, the district was proud to recognize Board President Mr. Dominick Vulpis with the Outstanding School Board Service Award.

Mr. Vulpis has spent nearly four decades as an educator, in addition to his service on the Board for the past six years. During this time, his wisdom and collaborative spirit have brought forth many positive opportunities for the students and staff and countless enhancements throughout the district.

Some of Mr. Vulpis’ accomplishments include the hiring of executive leadership whose vision aligns with the district's mission and strategic plan, integration of social emotional learning initiatives, combined athletic teams with neighboring districts to offer more opportunities for student athletes and capital improvements to facilities and technology throughout the district, including the development of a state of the art athletic complex.

Under his leadership the district has been more focused, determined and proud to highlight our successes, including a steady increase in graduation rate.

Congratulations Dominick and thank you for your service to public education in East Rockaway and throughout Long Island!
