The East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School music department kicked off Music in Our Schools Month with the 2019 sixth-grade music orientation. Forty-seven students from the sixth-grade band, chorus and orchestra worked with a select number of high school students to prepare a piece from their own upcoming concert. 

High school student-mentors assisted the young performers with the necessary skills and techniques required for their performances. All ensembles worked with their current music teacher and a high school music teacher. The event included icebreakers, rehearsals and performances from each of the three groups.
