Junior-Senior High School EMT students practiced and perfected their emergency response skills in CPR, first aid and the use of an AED during two field trips to the Vocational Education and Extension Board in Old Bethpage.

This trip allowed them to demonstrate the emergency response skills they learned in EMT class in front of professional EMTs and paramedics who coached them throughout the day. With that, students qualified for a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED card, showing certification in these areas.

Student participants included Andrew Cancel, Sofia Emmolo, Damien Garcia, Tyller Gutierrez, Keely Lonergan, Gianna Mancusi, Kylie Matthews and Riley O’Hagan.
